The Biggest Shock of Election Night is What Happened in Florida

The biggest story out of the entire midterm election was the astounding fact that the state of Florida has become SOLID RED – leaving Democrats speechless.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis managed to handily defeat Democrat challenger Rep. Charlie Crist by more than 1.5 million votes, marking a dramatic shift in support from his narrow 32,000 vote victory back in 2018.

DeSantis’ victory came with a nearly 20 point margin over Crist, which is alone impressive, but even more astounding was the fact that he did it by flipping traditionally blue counties in his favor.

The governor managed to capture counties like Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, which have been notoriously blue for some time.

Other GOP candidates like Senator Marco Rubio and House Congresswoman Maria Salazar reaffirmed the political shift by securing victories of their own in these historically blue areas.

All of this points to the fact that Florida has become nothing shy of a deep red state thanks to the fact that GOP leadership within the state has excelled.

DeSantis celebrated the trend change, saying that Florida has “rewritten the political map” and adding that it is “apparent that this election we will have garnered a significant number of votes from people who may not have voted for me four years ago.”

“We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject woke ideology,” he said, concluding that “Florida is on the right track.”

  1. LDeSantis has proven for the world to see what a leader is all about. Not what vindictive tweets but action and love of freedom from central Gumnit stupid mandates

  2. Like DeSantis but, I have reservations about his ability as President. He’s successful as Governor, but that doesn’t automatically mean he can handle the office of President. I’ll wait & see.

  3. I DO LIKE DESANTIS AS GOVERNOR FOR PRESIDENT I DON’T THINK HE ISREADY FOR IT. I PREFER TRUMP AS
PRESIDENT. HE KNOWS MORE HOW TO HANDLE WORLD PROBLEM. HE NOT A PUSH OVER. AND TRUMP WAS
VERY SMART AND VERY INTELLEGENT PERSON.
