Megan Rapinoe has repeatedly attacked Victoria’s Secret for its “narrow” views of feminine beauty. The retailer is now reportedly planning to make some changes to embrace woke culture, reported as only Louder with Crowder host Steven Crowder can do.
He said Rapinoe, obviously a feminist who previously berated Victoria’s Secret for its “narrow” reinforcement of obvious women’s beauty standards is now going to work with Victoria Secret to redefine “sexy.”
So now instead of Victoria Secret’s traditional lingerie model ads, the updated versions may include a more “inclusive” (read: ugly) approach. Who knows what to expect under the banner of inclusivism? Lesbian, transgender, all shapes and sizes, it’s no longer about making women feel sexy, but rather about equal representation and bending to leftists cultural standards.
Not sure how Rapinoe suddenly has so much influence on a lingerie franchise. She’s unlikely the store’s target customer, but somehow has a lot of say on what Victoria’s Secret will put in its pictures.
The upside down approach has led Crowder to mocking say, “Thanks, feminism!” He claims Rapinoe has ruined the store, destroying yet another American company based on the left’s increasingly bizarre cultural agenda.

Victoria’s Secret was first started in 1977 by Roy Raymond because he was uncomfortable shopping for undergarments for his wife, so he created a store where men could feel comfortable shopping for lingerie for their wives and girlfriends. The company did all right until 1982, when it suffered some financial difficulties. Les Wexner stepped in and changed the focus to women as customers, rather than men. It worked, because 10 years later, Victoria’s Secret was the largest lingerie retailer in the US, with 350 stores nationwide. For several reasons, the sales began to falter in 2015. Those reasons included complaints of product quality, not following the fashion trends, like sports bras rather than push-up bras, and accusations of having an outdated brand image. In 2019, the company hired a curvier, but not plus-size model, and then added an openly transgender model. While the Pandemic Year 2020 impacted their sales, those sales did not pick up much even after they reopened their online stores and some of the brick and mortar stores. There was no mention of different body or gender types as being the reason why sales dropped between 2015 and 2019, and the inclusion of such did not increase sales. Based on the history of the company, it is more likely that management and financial decisions caused the fall, not lack of diversity in their models.
