At this point it’s painfully obvious that NOBODY is supporting the Democrats, but some of the party’s leaders are desperately clinging on to their former glory – making it even more embarrassing when the American people make it clear that they can’t stand them.
In once recent example, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi awkwardly begged a crowd of people to clap for her attempt to praise Joe Biden, aggressively reminding them “That’s an applause line!”
Pelosi said, “Mr. President, thank you for unifying and inspiring a vision of a stronger, fairer, safer future for all our children. Your extraordinary leadership has made this glorious day possible,” which left the crowd silent before Pelosi eventually signaled them to cheer for her words.
Pelosi’s embarrassing moment was part of a celebration by Democrats who were looking to hype up Joe Biden’s ‘accomplishments’ ahead of midterms.
The painfully awkward exchange reminded many of failed presidential candidate Jeb Bush pleading with his unenthusiastic audience to “please clap” back in 2016.
After she asked the crowd to cheer, Pelosi said, “And let us salute Leader Schumer [and] his colleagues in the Senate for their extraordinary leadership and the success in bringing this bill to the floor.”
Schumer replied, attempting to make light of the situation, “That’s an applause line!” But the damage had already been done for Pelosi and her fellow Democrats who look more and more desperate for any sign of support as time goes on.
