Nancy Pelosi repeatedly claimed that she was traveling to Taiwan to “defend Democracy,” and prove that the U.S. stands with them in their quest for sovereignty, but a closer look reveals that may not have been her true purpose for wanting to visit the island nation.
Prior to Nancy’s trip, Biden’s White House and other Democrat leadership urged the Speaker of The House not to travel to Taiwan for fear it would provoke the Chinese government into following through with their threats against both the United States and Taiwan – but Pelosi seemed mysteriously hell-bent on making the trip.
It’s no secret that much like the Biden family, Nancy Pelosi and her family have made a habit out of using her position in power to line their pockets, accumulating a net worth north of $100 million during her career in public service.
That being said, it should come as no surprise that during her trip, Pelosi reportedly met with the chairman of Taiwan’s biggest semiconductor manufacturer TSMC and even brought along her son, Paul Pelosi Jr., who was conveniently left off of the flight manifest.
While Pelosi does not directly own TSMC stock, she does has a massive stake in an asset management company called AllianceBernstein, which holds a large chunk of TSMC – proving she most definitely has a vested interest in the chip manufacturer she went to meet with.
This hush-hush little meeting of hers also came as the U.S. was passing new subsidies for chip manufacturers and Pelosi and her husband had just purchased millions of dollars worth of stock in another chip manufacturing company.
