In a recent Tucker Carlson broadcast on Fox News, journalist David Marcus walks through a list of what Twitter is refusing to censor, all while they ban President Trump and purge any content related to fraudulent election results.
Just a 10-minute search of Twitter revealed hashtags for kill Trump and assassinate Trump. One username called “pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon” is used in reference to killing police. Several examples of the domestic terrorist group Antifa can be found.
While there’s a lot of bad information on the internet, it doesn’t mean American companies should get to pick and choose based on which political party or candidate they prefer. This is much worse than a corporate monopoly, as it controls national and international communications.
In a time when many Americans are stuck at home and rely on their devices for news and information, removing freedom of speech while allowing terrorist and ISIS supporters to persist on a Big Tech platform is a recipe for disaster. This is not about safety or even truth. It’s about control. If Twitter can control what you see and what you can say, America is not a land of free speech.
