How Schools are Dumbing Down Young Students

Famed economist Thomas Sowell explains how the pitiful dumbed-down “education” our children and grandchildren receive in public schools and universities is leading to the increasing dysfunction in America. It’s part of his new book Dismantling America that is rocking readers with startling information about the state of public education across the nation.

The video begins by noting a woman with a petition went among the crowds at a state fair, asking people to sign her petition demanding the banning of dihydrogen monoxide. She said it was in our lakes and stream and now in our sweat and urine and tears.

She collected hundreds of signatures to ban dihydrogen monoxide, a scientific name for water. The story sounds funny, but there’s nothing funny about the implications of a country that would sign a petition to destroy itself.

Sowell notes how the pattern of passing on knowledge and wisdom from one generation to the next has increasingly turned into indoctrinating children with the latest political agenda. Students continue to struggle to read or do basic math despite the greatest tools in history for learning.

He does give some hope, however, stating that many of our nation’s great conservatives didn’t begin as conservatives in their youth. There’s still time for change, if only we will act. Check out the video for this powerful story from one of the top voices of our time.
