Democrats have long counted on Hispanic voters to blindly vote for them. Democrats have never offered the Hispanic community any favorable policies, and voters finally seems to be fed up. A new report out of Texas shows how the attitudes of Latinos are shifting as a growing number of them are moving their support to the Republican candidates.
The video gives the example of one county in Texas that is 90% Hispanic and that has traditionally been a Democrat stronghold. Not anymore, say Republican leaders.
A study found that in 2020, the 53,000 Hispanic voters in the county had a majority registered Democrat but voted Republican. It’s a trend statewide and perhaps nationwide in response to conservative values that appeal to Latino voters more strongly than the radical, progressive agenda of the Democrats.
Just because Biden has left the southern border open doesn’t automatically mean he will get the Hispanic vote. In fact, nearly every poll shows the opposite. Latinos are split at best on the issue of illegal immigration. With as many of 50% of them wanting Biden to close the border and enforce legal immigration. Many Hispanic Americans don’t appreciate the new changes and are likely to oppose Democrats in the midterms.
By how much is still unknown, but if Democrats thought they had problems keeping power in the House before, just wait until they see how many Hispanic voters support Republicans in 2022. The rude awakening may join the red wave that sends Pelosi packing as the House Speaker after this session.
