Chicago’s Mayor Handcuffs Police from Engaging in Foot Pursuits of Petty Crimes

Chicago has announced a new rule that says police officers are no longer allowed to chase people on foot if they suspect them of minor offenses and they run away.

It’s the latest in several odd moves in a city besieged by violence. Chicago is led by a radical Democratic mayor who continues to struggle with violent crime. Stopped by police for suspected minor crime and run away. Oh, well, I guess you get a pass as the law no longer allows a chase.

Just last month, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced a teen curfew on weekends after a young person was shot and killed in the city. Now police won’t even be allowed to chase a person suspected of minor crimes, giving criminals an even bigger advantage against Chicago’s police.

Most police are not happy with the announcement. Instead of backing the blue, the city continues to restrict its own officers from protecting the public. It’s so bad that the city’s population has seen severe decline. Many residents have left for red states willing to stop mistreatment of police and supportive of basic constitutional rights.

There’s more in the video, so check it out now to see how this new move will likely only increase crime rates in one of the nation’s most violent cities.

  1. Citadel corp. leaving ChiCONGO due to the high crime rate, more to follow. This is what liberal demonrat policies do-destroy everything good. The entire police force should walk off the job. Let the liberal cowards police the cesspool. ChiCONGO is an infestation of Liberal Demonrat maggots’ who suckle on the teet of the taxpayer.

  3. I believe a lot of cops go to bed at night praying one of her favorite people breaks into her castle and takes her out of our misery!

  4. How about a single exemption for a really, really late term abortion for this half-wit. I am sorry but she(?) is a danger to the public and to the police force that is trying to protect the public.

  5. Hmmm, next time I’m in Chicago looking for something fun to do, maybe I’ll just break into skank Lightfoot’s car and see what she has to say as I simply run away from the police.

  6. This in not the Chicago I grew up in under Mayor Daley. I’ve left and never plan to return. Such a beautiful city being driven into ruins like Detroit.
