Hotels packed, electricity out, people sleeping in cars—this is not Guatemala—this is Texas. The Lone Star State continues to struggle after experiencing its worst snow storms in decades.
More than four million people across the state have endured rolling blackouts due to lack of energy. This has been due in part to frozen wind turbines in West Texas. The situation has exposed the dangers of dumping fossil fuels for renewable energy like wind and solar, exposing Americans to frightening winter conditions.
Sure, Americans want to keep the planet clean, but not when they could wake up without electricity during a winter storm. Green activists and energy providers will have to answer some tough questions before expanding plans in Texas and beyond after placing citizens at risk.
Thankfully, Texas weather is expected to soon change and bring warmer temperatures across the state. However, the clean energy providers responsible for blackouts will continue to face a cold shoulder from Texans unless they can offer increased protections for Americans while working to safeguard the planet.

Common since tells you these things will not work in bad weather. Calif. has already proven this. EPA [in my opinion] has turned into government control.
One of the problems causing forest fires in California is that too many resources are being poured into so called renewables and not leaving enough money to maintain existing infrastructure. This green movement is insanity.
It happen ten years ago and they didn’t do anything about it then, so again the people of Texas had to suffer and lose of life.
Everyone seems to be screaming for new renewable green energy but no one is considering the problem that the technology for switching to this “idea” does not exist yet. The current drive to force us to immediately shut down the older, but much more reliable energy sources and stampede to the new is definitely a recipe for major disasters such as we are seeing in Texas right now! Definitely they have the carriage so far out in front of the horse that you can’t even see the horse!

If Trump was still in office, he would have been in conversation with Gov. Abbott as soon as it became apparent that there was an emergency, offering federal assistance to the state. To my knowledge, the current goofball in office hasn’t even addressed the issue, let alone offer assistance.

The Left will tout renewable energy as the answer, despite the fact there’s no sun in a blizzard and turbines freeze up, LOL! That said, TX gave DC the middle finger, told them to fuck off with their regulation, but they didn’t foresee or prep for a rare SHTF event like this one. This cluster fuck also reminds us we can’t depend on govt. 100%, not even in a red state. Any households that had propane or natural gas heating would have been able to ride out the blackouts. If you live in a place that can freeze, you can’t depend only on electricity! I’m no friend of the demos and I live in Texas. The reason the turbines froze up in Texas and not anywhere else is because Ercot, not sure if that is spelled correctly, did not winterized the turbines because Texas USUALLY never gets that cold. They saved some bucks because of it but I’m pretty sure they will be pouring some money into it now.
