When California Gov. Gavin Newsom went on the record declaring that making the decision to not get vaccinated amounted to driving drunk, it explained a lot. It explains why his hypocritical and dictator-style of politics prompted Golden State residents to force a recall election to oust him from office. The West Coast Democrat has failed miserably on every meaningful issue, including his handling of the pandemic.
But on this exclusive The DC Shorts report, Newsom’s drunk driving rhetoric is only the tip of the spear.
In what appears to be a scripted address, Newsom compares people who are suspicious of getting the jab or unable due to health reasons with drunk drivers. The underlying theme is once again that someone else is to blame for his failed leadership.
Californians suffered mightily from Draconian lockdowns and mask mandates that ran contrary to science. At the height of the pandemic, Newsom and his elitist inner-circle dined at fancy restaurants that were closed to everyday people. And despite benefiting from former President Donald J. Trump’s travel ban from China, Newsom managed to sustain more Covid-related infections and deaths than any other state, bar none.
What does Newsom have to say about his mishandling of the pandemic, you might ask: “You don’t have the right” to decline the jab.
