A whopping 58 percent of Americans believe House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 committee is biased according to a new poll. Remember, the committee first did not make it through the Senate, so Pelosi formed her own, smaller “select” House committee.
The group was to consist of 13 members, including eight Democrats and five Republicans. That’s when things got weird.
Pelosi’s picks included one Republican among her choices, Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, a very vocal anti-Trumper who voted to impeach him after Jan. 6.
Then House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy sent Pelosi his list of Republicans for the team. Three were a yes and two were no. The two vetoed included Ohio’s Jim Jordan and Indiana’s Jim Banks, two strong Trump supporters.
McCarthy pulled all support over her veto, but that wasn’t the end. She added one more Republican, Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger. Shocker, he is also and anti-Trumper who voted for the former president’s impeachment.
There is nothing bipartisan about this group. As Jordan said, it’s really just Impeachment 3.0. Most Americans know it, and the poll confirms Americans know it’s really just another witch hunt.
