Although Gov. Gavin Newsom initially painted recall efforts as a form of partisan Republican conspiracy, more than 1.7 million California citizens signed a petition to have him removed from office. And now his last minute efforts to try to overcome the recall may not be enough to stop voters from ousting him.
The far-left Democrat has failed in almost every conceivable way to lead the Golden State. Wildfires continue to ravage the state, poverty has grown pervasive, Covid infections have yet to be curbed, cities suffer under a massive crime wave, and elites play by an entirely different set of rules. Gov. Newsom’s gross incompetence would swiftly result in his ouster in any other state. A recent poll indicates that Newsom could be shown the door on Sept. 14 when voters cast ballots on key questions. The first is whether Newsom should be removed. The polling data on that issue appears to be razor-thin. Meaning that voters have a real shot of getting him out of office and possibly installing a Republican in office.

Believe it or not, Newsom is not necessarily underwater in terms of job performance. That fact doesn’t mean he will survive, however.
