The so-called dignified transfer duty has been a solemn and private responsibility conducted by presidents. The previous three commanders-in-chief did not allow media coverage of the event, holding it sacred. Such was not the case for Biden, who brought a media pool in tow complete with live cameras.
Biden may not have gotten the 9/11 photo he wanted. But his handlers certainly planned to take advantage of the opportunity to pretend he cared about the deaths of America’s sons and daughters.
The problem for the scriptwriters in the White House and those instructing Biden on what to say, who to take questions from, and even where to stand is that the President cannot keep it together for very long. I read that Biden wasn’t planning to attend the receiving ceremony. He had to be TOLD, that the optics wouldn’t look good or wouldn’t sit right with the American people. The fact that he had to be told to do that is pretty terrifying, that’s how disconnected Biden is with reality. During the 40-minute ceremony, Biden checked his watch 5 TIMES, according to one of the dead soldiers’ mothers. What was so pressing? Were his favorite cartoons were coming on or was he late for his afternoon nap? Then he wanted to have photo ops with their families during a private meeting and all but two people from the McCollum family walked away. Rylee’s wife and sister stayed. They said that all Biden did was talk about himself, the loss of HIS SON and how much pain he was still in. Rylee’s sister walked away, she wanted to support his wife, but she couldn’t believe what his moron was saying, so she walked away. He NEVER ask about Rylee, or what kind of person he was, he didn’t even show any remorse at THEIR LOSS. He NEVER asked Rylee’s wife when their baby was due. NOTHING. Everything was about HIM.
