New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a trip to the Lone Star State to campaign on behalf of fellow radical Democrats, making a far-fetched claim in the process.
AOC is already known for her over the top remarks, that she rarely has evidence to back up with, but this one needs a listen. She claimed it is “inevitable” that Texas will soon become a blue state. Really?
Texas is one of if not the most conservative state in the nation. Despite a border crisis that has led to thousands of new residents, voters are overwhelmingly opposed to the likes of Beto O’Rourke and Democrats like him running the state. In fact, a recent local election in the state in an area that was 90% Hispanic just elected a Republican.
The state’s Hispanics are becoming more conservative, not less conservative, according to the state’s election data. AOC can dance on TikTok videos and talk on Instagram all night long, but it won’t change the reality that Texas will remain a conservative state in 2022, 2024 and beyond.
Texans are tired of cleaning up after Biden’s negligent immigration policy at the border and are looking to the ballot box to change the situation. Governor Abbott is even leading the state to build its own wall. There’s no similar effort bringing Texans together to abolish ICE or defund police. AOC’s latest claim is simply not happening.
