We don’t see much in the way of “good news” these days, but here’s a story that is actually very, very wonderful. Four armed robbers walked into a church in Ferguson, Missouri in February. They were wearing masks and carrying plastic bags, and one of them apparently dropped his gun on the way in.
The congregation was alarmed, but Pastor Marquaello Futrell, a former police officer, recognized what was happening right away. He walks right up to the four young men and asks them their names, and why God sent them into his church on that particular day.
These four armed thugs were wanted for robbing a pair of convenience stores in Ferguson earlier that morning. It seems pretty clear that they walked into the church with plastic bags because they intended to rob the entire congregation at gunpoint.
Instead, something truly amazing happened.
The four young men left the service and drove off in a black Dodge Charger. Police have all their photos from the church’s livestream of the Sunday service, but they’re still looking for them. While they may eventually turn themselves in or may be arrested for their crimes earlier that morning, they got something completely unexpected by walking into the All Creation Northview Holiness Family Church.
Watch this video to see how Pastor Futrell and the church elders defused this dangerous situation. This story will actually make your day…
