Why the Left Hates Wealth

A West Coast college student recently asked a political thinker why his classmates chose poverty over prosperity. In show of hands poll, he said classmates were asked whether it was better for two people to each have $5, or one to have $10 and the other $50. They overwhelmingly chose the $5 scenario.

This common Democrat thinking that policies benefiting low- and middle-income families should be stricken because wealthy Americans also benefit begs the question: why does the left hate wealth?

On this Daily Wire video, speaker Andrew Klavan addresses a gathering of the Young Americans for Freedom at UCLA where a student posed that very question.

Klavan is a successful novelist whose works “True Crime” and “Don’t Say a Word” where made into major motion pictures. He also produces The Andrew Klavan Show podcast on the Ben Shapiro-led Daily Wire website. His cutting edge political acumen has made him a popular speaker on the college lecture circuit and a leading conservative voice.

During his UCLA question and answer segment, he highlights some of the basic reasons that liberals misunderstand capitalism. At the core, the left seems to think that there is only so much money and we have to split it equally. Klavan explains in a clear, concise way why that couldn’t be further from the truth.
