Is it actually good for President Trump that Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and Richard Gates have been indicted by Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Mueller?
According to Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin of New York, it is indeed a good thing.
As readers may or may not be aware, the indictment of Manafort and Gates actually had nothing at all to do with the Trump campaign. It actually had to do with their work from 2006 to 2016 for politicians in Russia and Ukraine, and Manafort’s and Gates’ alleged failing to register as agents of foreign organizations under the U.S. Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
It should also be said that the politicians Manafort and Gates worked for were either never elected or were out of office by 2014 — long before President Trump even started his campaign for the presidency.
In fact, Manafort’s company may not have received payments from these Russian and Ukrainian figures anytime after 2012. In other words, the indictment of Manafort and Gates as far as President Trump is concerned is a big “nothing burger.”
In this clip, Congressman Zeldin weighs in with his thoughts on the indictments and also tells Fox News’ Harris Faulkner about his vote on the federal budget and how that relates to tax reform measures. Watch, as the Congressman has salient points to communicate.
