Why No One Cares about Impeachment

The House impeachment hearing has hardly been high drama. As Ben Shapiro from The Daily Wire noted on his podcast, the whole impeachment farce is, “like going to a movie where you already know the ending. It’s the most predictable movie” ever.

Viewership of the hearings, unlike those during the Nixon investigation, Reagan’s Iran-Contra, and the ultimate impeachment of Bill Clinton did nothing but go down as things drug on this week.

It’s not so much that no one cares about what’s happening in Washington as everyone just seems ready to get on with it. Scott Jennings, a former special assistant to President George W. Bush and a former campaign adviser to US Sen. Mitch McConnell wrote in a piece for CNN:

Let’s be honest. The Democrats were always going to do this. From the minute we realized on election night that Donald Trump had won, they began fantasizing about nullifying the election results. Indeed, in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election, the Democrats’ biggest concern was that Trump would not accept the outcome … as it turns out, it was the Democrats who had no intention of accepting it. How odd that they have again become what they claim to detest about Trump.

Watch the video and learn why political expert Ben Shapiro says no one cares about impeachment. He says everyone is lined up on one of two sides: either they see Trump as the murderer of our system or its coroner.
