Partisan politics. It’s enough to make you sick. It feels like there used to be a time when members of both parties could sit down and at least discuss options. Moments of hypocrisy were actually newsworthy. Now, it seems like the left exists solely on a mountain of hypocrisy and mental gymnastics. If the exact same action taken by both Obama and Trump can be good when one does it and evil for the other, then we have abandoned even the possibility of reasonable discourse.
If you remember your history, even the far left condemned socialism and communism throughout the 20th century. Now, they have openly embraced the ideals, and they have done it out of complete spite. The regulatory keynesian policies of Obama failed. Trump’s open policies are succeeding, so to keep with their narrative, the only solution they can find is to steer farther left. It’s the most self-destructive political procedure our country has ever seen.
