Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has bombed as the White House’s new spokesperson. That’s not just the view of conservatives, but the opinion coming from a growing number of voices on the left.
One Politico writer tweeted that, “Her answers have baffled reporters, and made some of her White House colleagues wince.” It added, “She has increasingly found herself sharing the podium or splitting briefings with John Kirby.”
Kirby may be on the left, coming from a background in the Obama administration, but he has been able to consistently answer questions from the media in ways that have been a struggle for Jean-Pierre.
And it’s not just Kirby. Celebrity appearances from K-Pop sensation BTS and a gun control speech by Matthew McConaughey are becoming more common as the White House looks to limit Jean-Pierre’s time at the podium as much as possible.
One clip shown during the video reveals Jean-Pierre rapidly flipping through a binder of notes for help, ultimately admitting she had nothing new on the topic for reporters. Sure, the job is high pressure, but the latest press secretary is crumbling and bumbling instead of making statements to improve the information coming from the White House.
