An article in the Washington Post titled, “Hamilton Pushed for Impeachment Powers. Trump is What he Had in Mind,” claimed Alexander Hamilton would have feared a president like championed impeachment powers with a president like Donald Trump in mind.
Chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff would have the American people believe he is on a holy crusade driven by his allegiance to the Constitution and the rule of law. But Rep. Kevin McCarthy (Rep – CA) was quick to point out the blatant hypocrisy of Schiff and his cohorts.
His told Schiff, “Let’s be honest [this has] never been about the rule of law. It was as Alexander Hamilton warned us. That one part would get control, and just because of the animosity, would demean the process of impeachment.”
Truer words have never been spoken.
Despite The Washington Post and Rep. Schiff, The Federalist recently reminded us how easy it is to invoke the dead to justify oneself. As Voltaire said, “History is nothing but a pack of tricks that we play upon the dead.”
Or, as the writer of Federalist observed, “Had Voltaire lived today, he might well have used the term ‘fake history.’
Watch the video and see Rep. McCarthy’s epic take down of Schiff’s claim the impeachment hearings are something “demanded” by his oath of office and the “rule of law.” At least some in Washington don’t believe everything they read in the papers.
