[WATCH] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Admits Her Goal as a Politician is Power

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently made a telling Freudian slip during a speech the other day when she said billionaires must give up their control and power to be ethical.

In explaining that she said, “I don’t want your money as much as we want your power.” Realizing her slip, she corrected her saying, “the people, not me. That’s going to get cut in clips.”

Despite her quick correction, columnist Steve McDonald believed that AOC’s remarks cut right to the heart of the issue of socialism. He writes:

If I have said anything, it is that the Left only cares about power. If you help them, they will pretend to be your advocate until they have power and can ignore you. If not, you are the enemy and must be defeated. Socialism doesn’t work any other way, and AOC just admitted as much.

Socialism’s rallying cry has always been “for the people” but always ends up being for the right people. The people in power.

The history of socialism over the last two centuries is that whenever a government shits to socialism, the first people to gain anything from it are the politicians.

The non-AOC Democrats want that power too; they just know better than to admit it.

Watch the video as the host of The Matt Walsh Show explains why this may be the “most horrifically honest thing we’ve heard from a politician in quite some time.”
