VIDEO: Shanghai Man Alive when Stuffed into Body Bag

It appears the latest outbreak of COVID-19 has overwhelmed the mega metropolis of Shanghai, China, (pop. 26.32 million). The city has been in a near total lockdown for over a month. Government management of the crisis, however, has been clumsy and draconian.

The effort to stamp out the latest outbreak looks a lot like a military campaign as officials shuttle in medical workers, evacuate the stricken, and confine remainder of its citizenry indoors by taping residents door’s shut.

One story on the DW website reports a huge backlash from people living in China’s business capital. Chinese social media censors have not been able to keep up with the bad press.

For example, anyone testing positive for COVID is separated from their families, but essential medical treatment has been delayed. Food supplies are scarce.

And in the video below it shows how little the government cares for sick residents. You need to watch the entire video but you can clearly see Chinese officials stuff a sick patient who is alive into a body bag.

COVID, which previously left Shanghai unscathed, has been a wakeup call for the city. Reports are that Shanghai residents are astonished that they are being treated the same as other smaller Chinese communities. As a major business center, Shanghai once had an aura of superiority and more personal freedom compared to the rest of the country.

Maybe they forgot that the country has lived under a totalitarian system since 1949. What dictators give, they cany easily take away.
