Twitter Turns on Ocasio-Cortez after State of the Union Behavior

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the new golden girl of the Democratic Party. They’re putting all of their eggs in her basket, hoping she can galvanize young voters to turn up in record numbers. It’s a reasonable goal since Democrats have historically done poorly with the young crowd. Their support is so intense that, judging by her Twitter, she can do literally no wrong.

In fact, it’s probably easier to list the few tweets that aren’t overwhelmingly stupid. It’s been gaffe after gaffe with her, and her support hasn’t flinched. Then again, she’s only been an actual member of Congress for about a month. Now that people are realizing she has legislative power, they’re less forgiving of her mountainous incompetence.

That was on full display after the State of the Union Address. Through her behavior, AOC made it clear that she isn’t anything special. Her refusal to support progress on issues she claims to care about is proof positive that she’s just another politician after all. Thankfully, her Twitter followers weren’t having it.

In what might have been her worst day on Twitter ever, AOC took a lashing for behaving like an establishment politician instead of someone who cares more about issues than political clout. You can see some of the more vicious burns in this video. Take a look.
