During the height of the Russiagate narrative, the left claimed that Russian Bots were all over social media and were being used to help conservatives – namely Donald Trump.
Of course we recently learned that not only did the Russian bots NOT exist, but Twitter even knew they didn’t exist but went ahead with banning these so-called Russian bot accounts because of the immense pressure Democrats in Congress and the media were giving them.
Now we know this story goes even deeper than that.
This narrative relied heavily on a tool called Hamilton 68, which was designed to weed out “Russian disinformation.”
Clint Watts – an MSNBC disinformation “expert” who is really just a former FBI agent – was the brainchild behind Hamilton 68 and it turns out the entire thing was a FRAUD!
The tool was responsible for compiling a list of “Russian bots” which they then insisted was legitimate while refusing to reveal how they arrived at that conclusion.
Watts and the others behind Hamilton 68 took this list and convinced the mainstream media that these people were all a bunch of bots helping to “undermine our democracy”—aka write positive things about Trump and push conservative narratives.
The reality, however, was that the accounts that they claimed were bots actually belonged to regular Americans whose viewpoints they disagreed with!
You see, this tool was ultimately weaponized against conservatives to falsely label them as bots.
At its core this means that a former federal agent and other leftist organizations teamed up to create this false narrative.
