Tucker Carlson has finally emerged after being unceremoniously fired by Fox News on Monday. Carlson was reportedly preparing his show for Monday evening when he received the news that he had been fired.
This looks like a catastrophically dumb move by Fox News, which has lost about $1.6 billion in market cap and an average of 700,000 viewers across the board for the decision.
For the past several years, Tucker Carlson Tonight has been the #1-rated show on cable news, drawing as many as 4.5 million viewers during the 8 p.m. EST hour. Fox News has not stated publicly why Carlson was let go, although a smear campaign is clearly under way.
A lawsuit filed by a lady producer who did not work with Carlson, and who had never met him face-to-face, is being cited as the reason for his firing. That woman is claiming in her suit that Carlson created a hostile work environment that “subjugates women” – even though she’s never been in the same room as him. (Carlson has a studio at his home in Maine and another at his home in Florida. He doesn’t even do his show from a Fox News studio.)
Carlson finally released a video message on his Twitter feed on Wednesday night. He does not address why Fox News fired him. The message is… kind of cryptic. But it lets everyone know that we have not heard the last from Tucker Carlson. Whatever happens next should be incredibly interesting.
I miss Tucker Carlson already! I felt he was honest in everything he said. He was so ernest when talking about politics that it wasn’t off putting. I still watch Fox, but I miss Tucker so much!!! I hope he comes back to Fox or if he goes to another news outlet, I will watch him there. Tucker is/was one of my favorites.
I only watched Fox to watch Tucker Carlson Tonight. I won’t watch Fox anymore.
I have enthusiastically watched Tucker Carlson every day and learned so much about what has been going on in our country and the world. He has had fascinating, learned , diverse guests and covers so many important and interesting topics.I recorded his shows so not to miss them. I do watch Pete Hegseth whenever i find him on, and Mark Levin is a must. Otherwise, I will go on You Tube and search elsewhere for objective truth , two sides of stories, which I do not find on Liberal stations, and even biased PBS which is supposed to be public information. I am eagerly awaiting Tucker’s return to a worthy station! Freedom of speech and honest debates are vital to the health of our American Constitutional Republic.
Tucker Carlson, you have done a phenomenal job. There is no need to be afraid of the truth or keep it from our citizens. I am sorely disappointed w/Fox. Thank you Tucker I know you will find a place w/the right network. We truly need you. Barbara J.Williams
