While most Democrats and the media seem intent on taking President Trump down, he has found a rare ally in NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The two have repeatedly traded barbs in the past with each calling the other out for one thing or the other.
But in a dramatic turn, the Democrat Governor praised President Trump at a recent news conference for his response to the coronavirus. He said, “The president was 100 percent sincere in saying that he wanted to work together in partnership and in a spirit of cooperation. And I can tell you the actions he has taken evidenced that.”
Cuomo’s comments stood in stark contrast to the criticism leveled at Trump during Sunday’s night debate between former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
At one point during the debate, Biden intentionally tried to mislead voters by claiming The World Health Organization (WHO) offered COVID-19 testing kits, but the Trump’s administration refused them.
WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris cleared up the matter, “No discussions occurred between WHO and CDC about WHO providing COVID-19 tests to the United States … this is consistent with experience since the United States does not ordinarily rely on WHO for reagents or diagnostic tests because of sufficient domestic capacity.”
Politifact called Biden’s hand on the misinformation saying, “Biden’s emphasis on WHO offering kits is simply wrong.”
With the entire world at near panic level, this is not the time to play political word games.
