Trump Says No to Impeachment Hearing

This week starts the impeachment hearings by the House Judiciary Committee. This follows weeks of hearings and depositions by the House Intelligence Committee, headed by Rep. Adam Schiff.

Rep Jerry Nadler (D-NY) invited President Trump to testify and call witnesses in this phase of the trial. But President Trump’s lawyer, Pat Cipollone, sent a letter to Nadler saying the President will not be participating in these hearings.

Cipollone wrote a five page letter detailing all of the reasons why the President will not participate nor will he send representation to defend himself during the hearings.

The President has accused Nadler of holding this hearing purposefully while he is out of town. Trump will be in London this week attending the NATO leaders meetings.

While it may not seem like it, President Trump is making a wise decision to not participate in the impeachment process. There is nothing for him to gain by testifying. Democrats have all, already made up their minds as to how they are going to vote. Nothing President Trump says or does will change anyone’s minds at this stage. Democrats only want him to participate in order to help their own political careers and re-election campaigns. They want to elevate their own profile within the party by cross examining the President.

Get all the details on who is testifying this week and hear from the President why himself on why he decided not to participate in this farce. Enjoy!
