President-Elect Donald Trump just announced that he is tasking two genius businessmen, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy with heading up a new government agency known as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE is designed to radically eliminate the wasteful spending that has become the norm for our bloated government.
Trump said in a statement that together Elon and Vivek will “send shockwaves through the system” while FINALLY forcing our government to be more responsible with the tax dollars they collect from us.
And if you look at some of the ways in which the government has been using our money as laid out by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK)… it’s pretty clear that DOGE is loooooooong overdue.
Senator Lankford cited several examples of just completely absurd ways in which the U.S. Government is spending tax dollars.
These examples include things like $20,000 to fund drag shows in Ecuador and $350,000 to fund the development of… AI toilets.
He also noted that a Hawaiian farmer’s market received a staggering $3.4 million and if you’ve ever been to a farmers’ market you’d know this is just completely INSANE.
The government also spent $30,000 to study the “secret language of butchers in Paris” (whatever that means) and dropped $660,000 to study the impact of COVID specifically on Russian women.
Our government has become completely obsessed with blowing through our hard-earned money as fast as possible and it’s time for Elon and Vivek to put a stop to that!
Watch the video here to see more ridiculous ways the government spends your tax money.
In honor of Elon and Vivek being picked as the heads of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), here some of the dumbest uses of your tax dollars.
