If anyone thought this was going to be a smooth transition of power from President Obama to President-Elect Trump, they were gravely mistaken. While Obama said with Donald Trump present that he would do everything in his power to make a smooth transition, recent comments made by the president suggest this simply is not the case.
President Obama has stated he would have beaten Trump if he could have run again. Obama has also made other insults directed at Donald.
Now, there are a few problems with this. First, why is it there are major transition problems whenever a Democrat leaves office? A social media post circulated several weeks back of a letter George H.W. Bush gave to Bill Clinton during the transition. However, how did the Clinton administration thank George when his son, G.W. Bush took office? They ripped wiring out of the walls and left many parts of the White House in disarray.
When George W. Bush left the office, it was as smooth a transition as possible to Obama. And now, how does Obama repay the kindness? By slamming Trump whenever he can. Apparently it’s the Democratic way to act like a child after losing.
Additionally, the comments made by Obama about being able to beat Trump are laughable. The entire reason Trump beat Clinton is because he said he would undo most of what Obama passed over the last eight years. President Obama has simply been well out of line with his comments.
