Trump Considering Testifying in Impeachment Hearing, Bill O’Reilly Says Bad Idea

In case you missed it, President Trump has been publicly considering testifying before the House impeachment inquiry. Leftists are rabid over the idea. For some reason, they assume that’s the key to finally ‘getting’ him.

Some pundits on the right are also worried about the prospect of the President testifying. They worry that President Trump’s shoot-from-the-hip style will land him in trouble, regardless of the truth.

There’s a third side to this. Allowing Mr. Trump to testify under oath could force the truth into a public light. With Jim Jordan questioning, the President could present the ultimate testimony of what was going through his head when he interacted with Ukraine. Instead of third-level hearsay speculation, we could get it straight from the source.

The problem with a Trump testimony is that this impeachment inquiry doesn’t exist in good faith. The Democrats will lay mountains of perjury traps that even the most skilled lawyer couldn’t navigate. They’ll cut off all of his answers and produce an endless cycle of dishonest sound bites. They do it anyway, but this would really feed the fire of the left’s base.

It’s already a trap. The President is skewered if he doesn’t testify, and he’s skewered if he does. The truth was never part of the equation.

In this video, Bill O’Reilly does a great job of laying out both arguments. He makes it clear why President Trump’s good intentions aren’t enough to justify walking into this very obvious trap.
