Podcast host Joe Rogan recently was blasted for comments he made about dictators, but what Rogan said is true: “As soon as you give politicians power…historically, they are not going to give that power up.”

“If they can figure out a way to force you into carrying something that lets you enter businesses or lets you do this or lets businesses open, historically they are not going to give that power up. They find new reasons,” Rogan pointed out.
“We have to protect those freedoms at all costs, whether you agree with people’s choices or not because it is the foundation that this country was founded on, freedom. This idea of freedom, there’s so many people that think it’s frivolous, it’s not important, it’s not the main thing that we should be focused on, but it is the literal structure that allows this country to be so amazing,” Rogan added.

I saw these exact same things in Rwanda. I was working with the UN in 99 and 2000. The gynecide had stopped and we were in recovery, analyzing what had happened and rebuilding. Glen Beck’s explication of how it starts is right on the money. The ongoing effects are stunning and frightening. Example: I was in my vehicle with one of my local staff. A man walked in front of our stopped truck, looked at my staffer, than looked away hiding his face with his hand. My staffer said, “See that man. He killed my grandfather.”
