The Disturbing Report on Veteran Treatments at VA

If there’s one group that the United States owes a debt to more than any other, it’s veterans of our military. Sadly, it is also this group that has been subjected to some of the poorest treatment of any group in the country.

A recent report released by the Inspector General outlined disturbing instances of abuse and neglect in VA hospitals across the country. The conclusion of this report was the US veterans were actually put at risk by visiting a VA hospital. This report follows a series of horrific VA scandals that took place under the watch of the Obama administration, including the use of secret waiting lists among VA hospitals that cost countless veterans their lives as they were forced to wait on the treatment they desperately needed.

It’s a devastating reality that we as a country tend to forget about the Americans who have sacrificed the most once they return home from war. While this recent report on the treatment of veterans at VA hospitals is largely being ignored by the mainstream media, we can hope that it will not be ignored by President Trump and the rest of those with the power to fix this crisis.
