The Democrats Unity Tour Hits Some Potholes

Is it a tour of Democratic unity, or is it Abbott and Costello? That’s the question Democrats are asking as the words out of Bernie Sanders’ mouth don’t always match what’s being said by Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez on their ‘Unity Tour’ that’s been traveling across the country.

While Democrats seem to be making a show of trying to embrace the Vermont Senator, who came in second in their party’s primaries, it’s probably only because Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers are so miserable that she’s the last person they want to send around the nation.

And while Bernie Sanders functions as a magnet for young progressives (he filled stadiums with them in 2016), a closer look at his policies proves that their math doesn’t add up (for health care and free college tuition, for example). An examination of Sanders’ record in Congress confirms he was the sponsor of just two pieces of legislation that ever became law, and one of those was the renaming of a post office.

Basically, the guy is a deadbeat and a charlatan — he’s managed to convince practically a whole generation of people that he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he’s accomplished next to nothing in his entire Senate career.

Watch (and listen) as the audience booing and the look on Tom Perez’s face makes a viewer wonder who’s on first base in this amusing clip.
