Somehow, Robert Mueller is once again the biggest news story in this country. He released an entire report that showed how his investigation was a waste of time and money. Then, he held a press conference specifically to tell us all that he has nothing else to say on the matter. Everything is in the report, and asking him about it won’t change a thing.
Naturally, the Democrats ignored him and put him on the stand before Congress. So, let’s go through it. The hearing certainly wasted more time and money, but we need to know if anything important happened.
According to the Democrats, there are a few key takeaways. Mueller’s investigation did not exonerate President Trump. Mueller is not recommending that we prosecute President Trump right now. It is technically a legal possibility to charge President Trump with a crime once he’s out of office. You can expect them to spin those findings until they are unrecognizable.
In the real world, there were three key takeaways from this hearing. The first is that Mueller did not find evidence of conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia. The second is that Mueller flat out admitted that his investigation was not impeded or obstructed in any way.
