The Democrats know full-well that they are going to lose control of the House after the midterms next week and are desperately trying to spend their last moments of power “getting” former President Donald Trump, but the Supreme Court just delivered a devastating blow to their agenda.
The Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee have been trying to force the former president to release his personal tax records, hoping to find something that will incriminate him, but Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts recently shut them down.
Roberts granted a stay, temporarily blocking Trump from having to turn over his tax records to the committee.
“Upon consideration of the application of counsel for the applicants, it is so ordered that the mandate of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, case No. 21-5289, is hereby stayed pending further order of the undersigned or of the court,” Roberts’ order states.
The Democrats have been obsessed with Trump’s taxes since he first decided to run for President and despite the massive amounts of media hysteria surrounding the issue, nothing has ever come of it.
It’s clear this is just another one of their sad attempts to bring down the former president, and the Republican party along with him, via personal attacks rather than attempting to compete on effective policy which will actually help the country.
