Sen. Mike Lee Who Once Hated Trump, Now Says He’ll Vote for Him

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) was pretty viciously anti-Trump during the 2016 election season. At one point, he called on Donald Trump to drop out of the race for the “good of the Republican Party.” Lee’s opposition to Trump was at least partly understandable.

Mike Lee was supporting his good friend and fellow Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for the nomination. And out of the all the Republicans running in 2016, Ted Cruz was the distant second who most of us would have supported without any qualms over Crooked Hillary.

It’s been fascinating to watch the establishment figures who were anti-Trump in 2016 come around to being some of the president’s biggest supporters. Sure, there are a handful of weak, simpering never-Trump gimps who still oppose him so they can keep their sinecures at CNN and MSNBC as “conservative voices.” No one ever really believed that Max Boot and Ana Navarro were really “conservatives” anyway.

Sen. Lee talks very candidly and openly about how Trump finally won him over and the reasons why. He went from being a fierce anti-Trump opponent in 2016 to now being a personal friend of the president.

You may argue about Trump’s conservatives bona fides, but it’s impossible to argue with his track record on the economy, de-regulation, religious freedom, trade policy and other issues.

Check out this discussion between Glenn Beck (another 2016 anti-Trumper) and Mike Lee on how Trump changed both of their minds.
