A new Virginia Tech study claims it has found evidence that could help determine whether a person is a liberal or conservative based on a brain scan. The only problem? Liberals probably won’t like the results.
The one major issue related to how a person’s nervous system responded to disgust. For example, where a person sees something gross like flies on a salad or a dead corpse, it elicits a particular response.
When a person in the study was asked about issues like gun control or abortion, the greater the level of disgust, the more likely the person was to be conservative. The study claimed the outcome was 95% accurate.
In other words, conservative minds are repulsed by certain activities that are associated with the left such as abortion, increased gun controls and similar behaviors. For liberals, they are less likely to show concern over such issues.
The study seems to confirm what many conservatives already know. Conservatives still care deeply about traditional American values and moral beliefs, something that is less likely to concern those on the left.
