President Biden desperately pleaded with OPEC to hold off on oil cuts until after the election, fearing the political backlash it would have for his Democrats, but when the Saudis exposed what the U.S. president had done, the situation went south fast.
Biden had no interest in stopping the cuts, or even increasing U.S. domestic production to counteract them, but instead was only concerned on tricking the American people into thinking the soaring price of oil was a settled issue.
The president’s administration had actually quietly been begging the Saudis to increase production temporarily to help “ease” the economic pain Americans are feeling thanks to Biden’s unnecessary oil crisis.
After the cuts, Biden attempted to – yet again – blame Vladimir Putin for the decision, accusing Saudi Arabia of doing so to side with Russia in the Ukrainian conflict, and warned that there would be “consequences” for them doing so.
“There’s going to be some consequences for what they’ve done with Russia,” Biden said in what many perceived as a direct threat against the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia responded with a statement denying Biden’s claim.
“The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would first like to express its total rejection of these statements that are not based on facts, and which are based on portraying the OPEC+ decision out of its purely economic context,” the Saudi foreign ministry said.
But as it turns out, the oil rich nation does not take kindly to threats, especially from a leader as weak as sleepy Joe, and their next response raises the threat that Biden may be steering us into yet another war.
