San Francisco Elects D.A. Who Refuses to Prosecute Homeless, Public Urination, Sex Solicitation, and Other Quality of Life Crimes

Steve Hilton, the host of The Next Revolution on Fox News recently discussed the living conditions in San Francisco and blasted newly elected District Attorney Chesa Boudin’s decision to not prosecute what he calls quality-of-life crimes.

Boudin, the son of 1960s radicals from the domestic terrorist group Weather Underground, who were imprisoned for murdering two police officers during a robbery, told the San Francisco Chronicle the decision is part of his plan to “work reforming” San Francisco’s criminal justice system.

Attorney General William Barr told the Fraternal Order of Police in a speech last year that newly elected progressive prosecutors’ reduction of sentences was “demoralizing” and “dangerous.”

The Economist describes the result that left-wing policies have already had on the home of Knob Hill and the Golden Gate Bridge, “Despite its beauty and wealth, San Francisco is one of America’s grittiest cities. In some neighborhoods, people openly use drugs, defecate on the street and flagrantly steal. It feels as though law enforcement has turned a blind eye to many lesser offenses.”

Violent crime in the city has been on the decline while non-violent crimes have been rising like one of the city’s many hills. Among the 20 largest cities in America, San Francisco has the highest property crime per resident.

Boudin’s answer is to declare non-violent crimes, not crimes at all.
