Sen. Ron Johnson's staff is currently sifting through approximately one million pages of material related to COVID-19 — the emails, the memos, the internal communications that the people who ran the pandemic response really hoped you'd never see.
The problem, Johnson says, is that "they didn't leave much of a trail. They learned how to destroy emails."
Speaking at Breitbart News's Fight Club Roundtable with editor-in-chief Alex Marlow and Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle, the Wisconsin Republican laid out his case for a full COVID reckoning in terms that would make any Washington bureaucrat sweat through their lanyard. "I think it's crucial that we have a COVID reckoning," Johnson said. "These people need to be held accountable."
Johnson, who used his perch on the Homeland Security Committee to hold some of the earliest hearings challenging the official COVID narrative, hasn't softened with time. He's sharpened. "We keep finding more things, trying to reveal that and expose it in an organized fashion," he said — acknowledging that the sheer volume of evidence is both his greatest weapon and his biggest logistical headache.
But the senator saved his sharpest language for the man who became the face of America's pandemic response. "I want to make sure that Anthony Fauci's reputation is completely destroyed," Johnson said, "that people actually understand what a truly monstrous individual he was."
Johnson's case against Fauci is specific: "What he did — funding gain-of-function research — probably contributed to the pandemic. Then he covered it all up and pushed a deadly injection on the global population." That's not a vague accusation. That's a chain — fund it, unleash it, hide it, inject it — and Johnson is putting his name on every link.
Johnson seems to understand that the courtroom isn't the only venue where consequences happen. "He is being held accountable through the destruction of his 'Saint Fauci' reputation," he said. The canonization that the media spent three years constructing — the magazine covers, the documentary, the bobbleheads — Johnson wants every bit of it dismantled with the receipts to back it up.
A million pages is a lot of reading. But somewhere in that stack is the story of how a government agency funded research that may have started a global pandemic, then spent the next several years telling you to shut up and take the shot.
Johnson's not asking permission to tell it. He's organizing it.
