A couple of weeks ago it was noted that Trump was only trailing Joe Biden by 10 points in the polls in the New York. We reported that with the caveat, “But he probably won’t win New York.” Here we are a couple of weeks later, and New York is suddenly in play.
Some polls now show Donald Trump is only trailing Biden by 7 points. That’s a deficit that many politicians have been able to claw their way out of in the past for a come-from-behind win. (A certain disloyal Governor of Florida comes to mind.)
Reporter Cara Castronuova from Newsmax decided to head to the Bronx to see how New Yorkers are feeling about Joe Biden’s chances next year. She was shocked to find that most of the people she encountered on the street—in a borough were 83% voted for Joe Biden last time—are now planning to vote for Donald Trump.
The reasons why New Yorkers have changed their minds in 2024 were inflation, inflation, and inflation. Everyone knows that life was better under President Trump, because wages were growing faster than inflation for the first time since the 1970s. You didn’t even have to get a raise to feel better off when Trump was in charge.
