Rep Matt Gaetz: Voting Dems Out in 2020 is Only Way to “Rebuild Congress”

Congress is clearly broken. The left has been going after every word in the Constitution for years. They’ve never respected the Second Amendment. They’re anti-religion, free-speech hating positions have assaulted the First Amendment just as often. And now, Congress has abused their position to unconstitutionally impeach the president.

How do we move forward with such a broken legislature?

A lot of ideas have been thrown around. Term limits are popular. At the very least, they could limit corruption by forcing a regular transfer of power. We could also actually prosecute the crimes committed by members of Congress. They do it a lot, and they always get away with it. Even holding one person accountable might scare them enough to tone it down a bit.

Then again, the easiest way to fix Congress is to get rid of the Democrats. They are the corrupting force, and they’re clearly the problem. The problem is that the Constitution effectively protects the right of citizens to be idiots and vote stupidly. It makes things tricky. But, Representative Matt Gaetz has an idea.

It’s not the most revolutionary idea. It won’t fix everything in one go, but it is a means to try and at least tilt Congress back to sanity. He explains it himself in this video. You might think that voting corruption out of Congress is a pipe dream, but he makes it sound possible.
