Rep. Jasmine Crockett Confronted at Town Hall Over Racial Comments and Background

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) faced sharp pushback at a town hall she held in South Dallas this week, where attendees confronted her directly over past remarks about race and allegations about her personal background.

Congresswoman Crockett has previously drawn criticism for comments dismissing what she called “white tears” and for claiming that White people, including those in the White House, are responsible for “80% of violent crime in America.”

Those statements resurfaced during the town hall as one attendee interrupted her after Crockett called for political “unity” against President Donald Trump.

“Jasmine, why do you hate white people? Why are you racist towards white people?” a woman in the crowd asked Crockett before being removed by security.

Video of the exchange was widely circulated online:

The confrontations from the crowd did not end there. Another guest pressed Rep. Crockett on her personal history, accusing her of misrepresenting herself to voters.

“Jasmine, the people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat!” the individual shouted, before following up:

“Jasmine, do they know you’re a rich kid from Missouri? Jasmine, do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?”

Security again intervened to remove the attendee as Crockett tried to steer the event back to her talking points.

A second video shows how Crockett responded as the disruptions mounted:

Crockett did not directly address the accusations during the town hall. She just smiled and avoided the engagement while relying on staff to shut down dissenting voices.

Taken together, Crockett’s own words, her refusal to address direct challenges, and her reliance on security to silence dissent raise a fundamental question: if she cannot defend her record or her past in front of her own constituents, how can she credibly claim to represent them in Congress?
