Rep Dan Crenshaw Explains Conservative vs Liberal Approaches to Taxes and Government

One of the newest freshmen in Congress — Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) — is actually a pretty interesting person. Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may get all the headlines, but Crenshaw is a lawmaker you should really be paying attention to. For one thing, he’s a lot smarter than his New York counterpart.

Crenshaw is a former Navy SEAL who lost an eye during a mission in Afghanistan. If there was an award for Coolest Eyepatch in Congress, he would win hands-down.

But beyond that, Crenshaw has obviously put a lot of thought into what it means to be a conservative and deeper questions — such as, why do we have government in the first place?

Listening to Crenshaw speak is actually pretty inspiring. He’s read the documents, diaries and musings of the deep thinkers among our nation’s Founding Fathers and really mulled those concepts over, and he articulates them like a champ.

In other words, Crenshaw is a really smart guy and you could do yourself a favor by listening to him boil these heavy concepts down into easy to understand principles.

Congressman Crenshaw attended CPAC earlier this year and sat down for an interview on conservative versus liberal approaches to governance. The result was truly inspiring to listen to.

Will Rep. Crenshaw end up being a good congressman? Time will tell, but in the meantime, check out this interview where he explains the key differences between how conservatives and liberals approach taxing Americans. It’s a treat to see such a bright and patriotic guy who is not just “spouting talking points.”
