Probe into Anti-Trump Dossier Expands to Obama

A lot of details have leaked from the FBI regarding their investigation into the Trump campaign’s involvement with Russian officials. By far the most shocking detail, though, is how much of their investigation was built around the Steele Dossier – a piece of opposition research funded by Clinton and the DNC that is chock-full of Russian lies intended to erode the democratic process in the United States.

Now, though, Rep. Devin Nunes – the driving force behind exposing the many ways this dossier was abused and mishandled – is expanding his probe to President Obama and his state department. It turns out that Obama likely knew what the dossier contained, knew that it was funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign, and also knew that it was being used as the foundation for the Russian collusion investigation. If this is indeed the case, then President Obama would have been complicit in using the powers of the federal government to undermine a Presidential campaign.

Rep. Nunes has sent out a list of questions to members of the Obama state department – questions that he is still awaiting the answer to. If his probe does show that Obama and his administration were involved with the FBI and DOJ’s abuse of the Steele Dossier, though, it will amount to a scandal that makes Watergate look like child’s play.
