Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump has announced he will not run for reelection in 2022.
Of course, it didn’t help that he set himself up for certain loss through his vote to impeach the former president. Gonzalez may claim it’s due to family reasons or other issues, but the people of Ohio know he’s simply escaping the inevitable.
Yes, Gonzalez was highly popular when he ran. A famous football player in his home state, he quickly rose to victory. Yet his ongoing criticisms of President Trump showed he wasn’t quite the conservative he claimed to be.
Facing down former Trump White House aide Max Miller in what could have been a disastrous primary, Gonzalez was at least wise enough to take the expressway to RINO retirement.
A recent Ohio rally by Trump essentially sealed his doom. Trump endorsed Miller as the new replacement, leaving the current House member fighting for survival in his own party.
Even Trump released a statement to slam Gonzalez in a parting shot to the exiting Republican. He said maybe he would do well as a commentator for CNN or MSNBC. Check the video out for more on the latest in the developments.
He did the right thing and this should warn the rest of the Republicans that voted against Trump that their days are Numbered too. So do the right thing and follow your clown and retire. There are no votes waiting for you in re election .don’t expect the voters to be behind you because they have paid close attention to party back stab.

Anthony Gonzalez made the right decision not to run again! At least he recognizes that his run would be futile!
