White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre almost called it quits after reporters refused to buy her reasoning for Joe Biden’s latest display of cognitive failure.
The president embarrassed himself while thanking a handful of bipartisan officials for putting together the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health and seemingly asking why a deceased Congresswoman was not in attendance.
“Where’s Jackie?” the confused president asked, “Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? … I think she must not be here.”
After the presidents major mistake, Jean-Pierre attempted to field questions from the press on the matter but was clearly overwhelmed by their surprising persistence as reporters were determined to get answers.
One reporter asked “What happened at the Hunger Event today? [Biden] appeared to look around…for…a member of Congress [Jackie Walorski] who passed away last month…What happened there?”
The press sec. responded claiming that Biden was “acknowledging her incredible work…She was on his mind…top of mind.”
While the Democrat friendly media would normally accept this weak excuse and move on, several other reporters continued to press Jean-Pierre and she snapped under the pressure.
Reporters pointed out that it seemed odd that the president did not appear to remember that she had passed away just a few weeks ago.
“The confusing part is why, if she and the family is top of mind, does the president think that she’s living and in the room?” another reporter asked.
“I don’t find that confusing,” Jean-Pierre pushed back and at another point freaked out over the continued questioning, saying, “Why, why this question again?”
