Do you remember when Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize? He had just taken office, and he was nominated on the hope that a black American president would somehow fix the world. Instead, he started five separate wars (that he acknowledged, anyway) without consent from Congress. He killed millions, bolstered Iranian terrorism, put illegal alien children in cages, and further divided the nation when Trayvon Martin was killed.
Then, we elected President Trump. Within a year of taking office, he de-escalated the situation between North and South Korea to an extent not seen since the countries split. Even though the two haven’t seen total peace, they have reduced armament in the demilitarized zone, repatriated fallen soldiers and even reunited some long-split Korean families. Also, North Korea has completely stopped testing nuclear weapons.
When people suggested that it was worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize, the left scoffed.
Well, President Trump has eclipsed that success. He has essentially brokered peace in the Middle East. To be fair, there’s a lot of work left to be done, but with the UAE normalizing their relationship with Israel, they’ve paved the way for roughly a dozen other countries in the region to do the same, and many are already making commitments to those ends.
Well, President Trump has formally been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his effort. Despite the politicization of the Prize, this is a big deal, and this video will explain why.
