Do you remember November? Trump was grilled relentlessly when Marine One had to cancel a trip to a veterans’ memorial. Mainstream media was ruthless. They called Trump unpatriotic and a traitor. They claimed he was too stuck up to endure a little rain in order to honor fallen heroes. They also said that his failure to visit Arlington on Veterans Day was unacceptable. They seem to think that a president doing his job is somehow an affront to our troops.
Well, Trump clearly cares for the men and women serving our country. That became clear with his recent visit to Arlington. He spent time honoring all, and he even collaborated with a volunteer wreath-laying group to make sure families of the fallen are not forgotten.
If the mainstream media bothered to cover this at all, they would say that Trump was just trying to regain lost favor from November. They would accuse him of only doing this as a political stunt. If that was true, he probably would have announced his visit. Instead, he quietly took the time to pay his respects. He made an effort to make sure this visit was about the troops and not himself.
